TechREACH
TechREACH after school and summer programs engage underrepresented and low-income students in hands-on technology and science projects, fun creative challenges, and experiential field trip and role model visits. Teachers are equipped with proven curriculum and training to generate excitement about technology, cultivate students’ confidence, and motivate students to prepare themselves for a world that needs, demands and rewards technology ability.

A National Science Foundation Information Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) grant provided funding to expand TechREACH to Eastern Washington. ITEST is designed to increase the opportunities for students and teachers to learn about, experience, and use information technologies within the context of STEM. The ITEST program was established by the National Science Foundation in response to the growing demand for professionals in the STEM workforce.

TechREACH: Technology and Research Experiences through After School Clubs for High-Risk Students, Grant No. DRL- 0624772
TechREACH offers Curriculum and Trainings that build the capacity of teachers to provide innovative science, technology, engineering, and/or math (STEM) content to students. All curricula focus on increasing student interest in STEM, and also implement strategies known to help involve minority and underserved populations. Units are designed to last 30-40 hours in an after school or summer program environment.
TechREACH sends out a quarterly E-Newsletter with information about TechREACH clubs as well as information from other resources that may be valuable for STEM-related programs, including funding opportunities, resources, and upcoming events.
