The FabFems Project
The FabFems Project, funded by the Motorola Innovation Generation Collaborative Grant, is a partnership between EdLab Group, Platform Shoes Forum, and Smith College that aims to address the current issues in gender inequity in science and engineering fields. The project will bring together the curriculum content from Smith College’s Summer Science and Engineering Program, the Platform Shoes Forum’s online platform called Zoey's Room, and the dissemination tools of EdLab Group’s National Girl’s Collaborative Project to create a cyber-learning platform that encourages mentoring, inquiry-based learning, and an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics career pathways for girls. The end result will be a fun, safe and collaborative online learning space that will engage girls nationwide at critical transition points in their career path between middle school, high school and college.
