FabFems Project: Connecting Girls with STEM Professionals

In the second year of their collaborative partnership, EdLab Group's National Girls Collaborative Project, Platform Shoes Forum, and the Smith College Summer Science and Engineering Program (SSEP) has launched the FabFems Project: Powered by Collective Intelligence. Funded by the Motorola Solutions Foundation, this project brings together the curriculum content from Smith College's SSEP, the online platform called Zoey's Room from Platform Shoes Forum, and the dissemination tools of EdLab Group's National Girl's Collaborative Project. It connects female science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professionals with middle and high school girls nationwide through a fun, safe, and collaborative online learning space. This project will facilitate the important connection between young women and STEM female professionals during critical transition points in the career pathway. The FabFems Project has been recognized by the White House as an initiative that is "adding momentum to a nationwide shift that promises to strengthen the U.S. economy and job security."
