Affordable Computer Technology Camps
Middle school students in King and Pierce Counties have the opportunity to spend a week learning Web design, digital photography, or graphic design for just $50 per week through TechCamps Northwest, a program of the Puget Sound Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology (PSCTL).
This grant-funded program, sponsored by the Office of the Superintendent
for Public Instruction, targets youth that are statistically under-represented
in the high-tech industry, including girls, minorities and low-income youth.
Using curriculum developed by Giant Campus, these fun, interactive courses are being offered throughout the summer in state-of-the-art computer labs at the Puget Sound Center in Bothell, the University of Washington Tacoma, Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood, and the Fife, Bethel, and Edmonds School Districts.
TechCamps run from 9 AM to 3 PM and lunch is provided.
